I probably don’t need to tell you since you are most likely often aware that our inner critic, that voice which is constantly critiquing everything we do and even what we think, is a very strong voice. In the right situation, this voice is quite useful, but the rest of the time, it is just harsh and unnecessary. For some of us, this voice in dominant, its always on, especially when life is not going our way.
Its not whether this voice is good or bad, but whether it is useful in moving in a direction that we value. More importantly, would you use the same voice in relating to others? Would you talk to a child with the words and tone that you use on yourself?
