NYTimes: My Friend’s Cancer Taught Me About a Hole in Our Health System

While writing Team Positive: How to Build Support for Someone Coping with Chronic Illness, I would often find articles like the following:

My Friend’s Cancer Taught Me About a Hole in Our Health System https://nyti.ms/2U2ezYY

The situations that he outlines here are exactly a few of the major reasons why I was compelled to write the book.  I heard the need from friends and family just about every time I was around them.  Somebody was always having some new challenge.  I saw it in my clinical interactions on a daily basis.  I read about it in various sources, like the article above.

How to build support, how to support someone with a significant health challenge, and tools that all can use to help them get through the situation all address the concerns I encountered often.  My greatest hope is that this book fills in the gap and offers relief for those who need a way forward but are unclear on how best to proceed.
