When personal values conflict, when life becomes difficult for no apparent reason, it is usually because our focus is only on one value, a personal value has shifted, or the personal value is to vague, not concise. I have often found that this can be addressed by taking some time to reflect on what is truly important to you. What matters. This is essential in knowing what to do next. Yet, as addressed already, we have to be careful we don’t focus on only one value at the expense of the others.
I created the video below to explore this phenomenon as well as to give you a few suggestions on how to broaden your experience, your presence and better understand the challenges of focusing on one core value and the overall effect that doing this (often without awareness) can have on our psychological flexibility.
